This week the Patriots had a bye week and two NFL teams traveled overseas to London. A bye week is a week off, without a game, and every team gets one at some point during the regular season. The Chicago Bears and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played in the NFL's annual game in London england, and the Bears beat the Buccaneers 24-18. The Oakland Raiders traded the Cincinatti Bengals two first round picks for quarterback Carson Palmer to replace the injured Jason Campbell.

Palmer's debut was unimpressove as he threw for three interceptions and the team was badly beaten by the Kansas City Chiefs. Other notable happeneing in the NFL this week was the performance of Cowboys back up rookie runningback DeMarco Murray who burned the St. Louis Rams defense for a Cowboys record 253 yards. Arian Foster also had a big day with 3 touchdowns for Houston. One of the biggest stories of the day was the beginning of the Tim Tebow era in Denver. In his first game as starter Tebow led the Broncos to two passing scores in the final three minutes and scored a two point conversion to force overtime for his team, which won by a field goal in overtime.
